A 4000 square foot traditional home was gut-renovated for a family of six and garnished with an 8000 square foot addition in steel and glass. The client’s passion for modernism (and the color, white) pushed the architect, Alan Greenberg, to develop a design that was edgy but contextual. Prior to founding Operative Ventures LLC, Hilary Scruggs was employed by the client to design and coordinate the interior architecture as well as act as the owner’s representative. The project was executed in two phases and featured prominently in the July 2010 issue of Architectural Digest. Photography by Michael Moran for Architectural Digest.
